This sounds very interesting. I think it would be awsome to have elite santa armor, but i think we should acquire it through hard quests. For example we have to do 1 quest for head peice and other quests for each peice of armor. IT shouldnt be that long of a quest but kinda hard to do. The quests should be a challenge. We can also instead of doing mutiple quest, just make one big quest and when finished u get the full set.

Sounds like a good idea but i don't know how many people would bother doing a difficult quest for the sake of walking around in a fat red suit.

Just like that?
We are already getting 4 masks and more ways to get the mini polar bear. We don't need a retarded red suit.

Says who?
I want festival hats to have armor and be insigniable before I want event armors that will end up having 0 armor.
Besides, many professions have a furry coat that looks good dyed red.
And I'd rather have a Mad King Thorn outfit before a fat man in red outfit.
At least All Hallow's Eve is more universal than Christmas.

if people buy the chaos gloves and farm for days for male warrior obsidian..just to look like a big barrel with glowing hands...i think a santa costume will be popular.

Don't forget, this is Wintersday, not Christmas. I'm pretty sure ANet doesn't want to pin Wintersday to any specific holiday as then it wouldn't appeal to another religion.

This isn't exactly true. While many cultures have attatched significance to OCT 31st. All Hallow's Eve as we know it is actually a Catholic holliday.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween
For that matted christmas day was chosen to correspond with a pegan holiday, and closely coresponds with haunaka, which also involves gift giving. So the "Christmas Season" is pretty broadly recognized.

Pretty much no. I would prefer Anet to work on anything at all, instead of making a Santa Suit. Anything.

Hell yes I'd wear the go red engine out of a santa suit, but I really doubt it'll ever happen.

1) I knew the pagan thing. 2) I know halloween and all saint's day are catholic in origin, but the original concept of All Hallow's Eve is not. And, as you said, it is in various cultures. Christmas as a singular event, does not.
However, there are other winter holidays around the time of christmas, as pointed out. And that is why this event is not only called "Wintersday" but people say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas."
The winter isn't just about buying and giving gifts and fat men in red suits pretending not to be pedophiles.
Why do you think the finale of Wintersday is New Years? Because New Years, unlike christmas, is universal - to the extent of Gregorian calendar (with the CE and BCE labeling, that is). The presents theme is based off of christmas, Hanukkah, and various other winter holidays.
Christmas has, to be honest, become less of a religious holiday and more of a "gimme gimme" event, only truly beneficial to companies.

I agree with Covah and Azazel on this one.
I would be much happier with a max AL, inscribable version of my Event Masks that gave +1 to linked attribute.

I would have signed this, but Azazel made a good point. As a matter of prioritization, I would rather have my Festival Hats gain a proper AL and functionality to other helmets of a class than get a holiday armor set, regardless of whether it had a real AL or not.
Work on making what we have now useful, and then do something new.

Do you know something we don't? You just made a BIG assumption there. As far as you know, it will never come out.
This idea is old and, frankly, hard to implement. With varying classes and sexes, making a full armor set would be difficult. This is why anet has only ever given out even HATS on holidays, and also why EOTN "common" armor was limited to gloves. Both hats and gloves change little in appearance from class to class and from male to female chars.

What does santa have to do with Jeezus???
Ok then how about this idea. A Wal-mart greeter uniform with footprints all over it? Wal-mart is universal isnt it?

I am for it. It will be much easier to find decent pugs after that, we will get another selection criteria: 1. Kick santas 2, Ask remaining to ping their build....
